The PDP has never been crippled by any crises and will not at this time capitulate to blackmail.
These were the words of Oyo PDP Chieftain, Hon. Dare Adeleke while reacting to speculations that the party’s national convention may not hold.
Adeleke applauded the leadership of the Secretary to the National Convention, Governor Seyi Makinde’s firm affirmation that the convention will still hold in Abuja on Saturday, as scheduled.
Adeleke in a statement issued in Abuja Monday, said:
“I wish to commend the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde on his statement assuring members that the national convention will still hold as scheduled.
Gov. Makinde has shown exemplary leadership both on state, zonal and national levels and he is a man of integrity whose word is his bond.
He has assured us all that there is no tension anywhere as the partt machinery and convention commitee are working assiduously to ensure a hitch free convention.
I must also use this opportunity, on behalf of Oyo State members of the PDP to commend His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde for his unshaken support for our Zonal chairman, Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja for the position of Deputy National Chairman and by the grace of God, we shall succeed in our quest.
Great PDP, Great!
