Rivers State Governor Nisom Wake described the work of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc as an enviable standard of engineering proficiency, strong technical ability, and a firm commitment to delivering excellent and lasting quality.
Governor Wike said this with gusto in Port Harcourt last week as newly constructed and rehabilitated bridges and roads began to operate amidst their pomp and grandeur.
This was just as Julius Berger Nigeria PLC Managing Director, Dr Lars Richter expressed the company’s appreciation to the state government and people for trusting the company as a project delivery contractor.
Commissioned projects include the new bridges Rumuola and GRA as well as the newly reconstructed and newly doubled Ezimgbu Road and the extension of Tombia Road, in Port Harcourt.
At the commissioning of the Rumuola flyover project, the special guest of honour, former Ondo State governor, Dr. Rahman Mimiko had kind words for Julius Berger saying that, “I congratulate Julius Berger for another clear proof of your ability to deliver good jobs, and on schedule….Well done Julius Berger.”
Governor Wike on his part, praised Julius Berger for beating the project delivery date and added that, “with this flyover completed and delivered on schedule, Julius Berger has continued to prove to us that it can take on any construction and engineering job. We paid them and they delivered on time. No delay, no story.” In a further robust show of satisfaction and appreciation of the excellent way the company constructed and delivered the project as contracted and funded, the Governor during his speech at the ceremony, personally called up the Julius Berger Managing Director Engr. Dr. Lars Richter for recognition to a warm applause by the equally appreciative audience.
In the Ezimgbu road commissioning exercise, Governor Wike said: “For the record, three roads on the same day were awarded to Julius Berger. Last Saturday we commissioned a flyover, today the Ezimgbu Road is in operation and then tomorrow, the extension of Tombia Road will be in operation. You can see the capacity of Julius Berger for working on three projects simultaneously and delivery on schedule. That’s why we’re happy. Thank you Julius Berger.”
Representative Managing Director and Regional Director, South, M. Jürgen Fischer thanked the Rivers State Government for the opportunity given to the company to contribute professionally to the provision of infrastructure in the state; Adding, “Our Board of Directors and Executive Management are grateful to you for your trust in Julius Berger.” The engineer. Fischer also expressed his appreciation to both the host community and the JBN project team, the latter of which was led by Engr, Therna for the peaceful and successful implementation of the project.
The commissioning of the Tombia Road Extension was by no means different with Governor Wake commending Julius Berger for his good work.
The Governor of Enugu State, Ifene Ogwanyi who was a special guest at the event, also praised and praised Julius Berger’s “professional work.”
Throughout the five-day commissioning period, traditional governors, thought leaders, and youth and women’s organizations attended in Rivers State and from across the country including former governors, servants, ministers, senators, members of the National Assembly and others.
