The Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria recently inducted deserving practitioners in the sector as members of the group.
The membership award ceremony held amidst pomp and funfare on the 26th of April during the National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo (5th Edition), at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
The event was anchored by the National President of the Institute, Aare Abiodun Odusanwo and was ably assisted by Otunba Ayodele Olumoko, the organisation’s Vice President, South West.
Speaking to newsmen after the colourful presentation, one of the shinning lights of the Industry and Awardee, Austine Eneduwa-George said he felt pretty much elated as he believed that the recognition was long overdue.
He said: “The last two times I was to be inducted and get the award, circumstances beyond our control hindered it. But today it’s come to be”.
He stated further in his acceptance speech that the induction, with the full backing of his governing body authenticates and certifies him as a practitioner which will equally open doors of synergy with other professionals within the system.
“I want to believe this is the right thing to happen and I’m embracing it with all sense of duty. This also now guarantees I’m an authority in Tourism related matters in the country and shall be recognized as such” he concluded.
Austine Eneduwa-George served as the immediate past 1st VP of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) Lagos chapter and was Past President of the Tourism Development Consulting Professionals Association.
