Dare Adeleke Sends Serious Warning to Ayu Over Arapaja, Others

A PDP chieftain, Dare Adeleke has described the Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as a self centered, self involved, selfish megalomaniac who is determined to destroy the party.

Reacting to statements credited to the embattled chairman that six officers of the party who returned monies allegedly sent to their accounts without pre-knowledge, Adeleke, in a phone conversation with our reporter said it is high time, the national chairman is cautioned: “I think Ayu must be cautioned not to put the party in further crisis if that report is indeed true”

“However, I must point out that the committee set up to probe the news report which started this whole crises, had discovered it to be falsehood.

According to Adeleke: “The committee’s finding did not indicate that the officers said they were bribed with the said money as it was part of their entitlement and that due process was observed”.

“What is most important now to the party is to probe the source of that news report and not for Ayu to be putting the cart before the horse, if indeed he made the statement that the officers will be suspended. That would mean he is dictatorial and senselessly power drunk. He must not throw caution to the wind.” He said.

Adeleke is however miffed at the furor which the story has gathered stating that there is tribal colouration in the whole affair: “I am aware that the aforementioned officers are from southern extraction. If Ayu and his executive choose to speak truth to power, they will know that the burden of discipline, if any, should be theirs to carry.

“We must note that the six officers mentioned are the ones who asked for the probe. It was not Ayu who intiated it.

“I expected this Senator Ayu to live above board like Caesar’s wife but he now thinks all power belongs to him so he can do as he likes.”

Adeleke stressed that the South is watching all the happenings in the party with keen interest and warns that nothing must happen to the key officers involved:

“We are watching the scenario with keen interest. Nothing must happen to our elected Officers. We hereby reiterate that Ayu must resign. The said officers have done nothing else but bring honour to our party” He noted.

“I commend the committee’s recommendation for a thorough investigation into the news report but at the same time, it must not be an avenue to implicate people who did the right thing”. He said.

Adeleke who is also Executive Chairman of the Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company and close ally of Governor Seyi Makinde described Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja and the other officers involved as “Heros of our party and sound democracy. I Dare Adeleke will challenge Ayu and his Co travellers in court if they Dare touch themu.”

The Pacesetter Chairman advised Atiku Abubakar to call Ayu to order: “Our candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, must warn the northern oligarchy within our party not to plunge our party into war of disunited party especially so close to election .”
